Ross Miller – Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar, General Manager – Formed Crush in 1996. Along with delivering passionate performances, Ross enjoys the thrill of the live audience. As a published songwriter, Ross has written and recorded numerous song pitch-demos in Nashville, TN and continues to write material for himself as well as, for other potential artists in, pop, country, and soul/R&B. Owner of A to Z Entertainment & Events, a turnkey events and artist management company. A to Z Ent. specializes in producing local live music series’, outdoor events and consulting with local business owners with the goal of increasing their business and hence, strengthening the live music scene in Raleigh, NC for over 15 years. Ross is an optimist, a leader, and passionate, when it comes to doing the business of Crush on, and off the stage.
Mike Krause – Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals – Mike has been active as a guitarist on the North Carolina scene for the last two decades. In addition to performing with Crush he leads his own group The Third Expression and has appeared as a session guitarist on albums with Tift Merritt, Caitlin Cary (Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Ryan Adams), Big Al Anderson (Nashville hit songwriter, World Famous Headliners), Tres Chicas, Chris Stamey and Thad Cockrell among others. Jon Heames – Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals – Jon is a veteran of the North Carolina music scene, having been a playing and touring member of many bands including Let’s Active, Motocaster, The BackBeat, The Stream, The Backsliders, and many others. He is known for his passion and knowledge of music and has been a music archivist since his formative years. Jon’s arranging skills and creative ideas have garnered much respect from his fellow musicians. His dynamic approach to the bass guitar is exciting and inventive, striving to create textures and melodic possibilities beyond the ordinary; utilizing differing tones and effects, Jon seeks to push the limits of the bass guitar’s role in a band context. He is valuable as a team player and an exciting performer, and is an asset to any musical project that he is involved in
Chris Stephenson – Drums – As a drummer/percussionist Chris Stephenson is an established ‘secret weapon’ of choice among musicians and producers in the Triangle. Adaptable to almost any style of music while always maintaining a defined identity, he consistently exudes a deep musicality in his playing. He has performed and/or recorded with a wide spectrum of established artists including Chris Stamey, Andy Kuncl, The Connells, The dB’s, International Orange (with members from Ben Folds Five, The Old Ceremony and Bus Stop), John Howie Jr. (Two Dollar Pistols), and many more.
Brian McFadden – Keyboards, Backing Vocals – Brian McFadden started playing piano and guitar at age 8 by ear, until he found it was much easier to use his fingers. As a studio musician for over 25 years “B Mac” wrote about 1000 national syndicated song parodies. Heard on the airwaves around here for years on WQDR and WRDU in their rock heydays, and currently the afternoon dude at KIX 102.9. Brian loves critters, vintage cars, and drools over old music gear.
